Virtual Dog Training Telesessions
Not every session needs to happen in person.
Virtual dog training with BB is a real one-on-one session by phone: the same positive-reinforcement method, the same C-R-A-P approach of Consistency, Repetition, And Patience, just over the phone instead of in your living room. It's remote dog training done right: live, personalized coaching with someone trained to read your dog's behavior by ear as well as by eye, not a pre-recorded course.
This works well for a few different situations. If you've completed an in-home plan and want a check-in without scheduling a full visit, a phone session keeps the momentum going. If something's come up between sessions (a new behavior, a setback, a question you don't want to wait on) a call lets you address it quickly. And if you've moved outside the Oakland area but want to keep working with BB, phone sessions mean the relationship doesn't have to end just because your address has changed.
How Phone Training Sessions Work
What you'll need: a phone and a quiet-ish space with or without your dog. Whatever you and your dog are currently working on is what we will address.
How it's priced: Virtual sessions are priced the same as in-home sessions. The training and attention are identical, only the format changes.
What to expect: the same free phone consult to start, so we can talk through what you need before booking. From there, sessions are conducted by phone, with the same individualized planning as an in-home visit.
Virtual sessions work well for any situation, from training a new puppy to any kind of obedience work to leadership training for humans to troubleshooting special issues and everything in between. If this is what fits your schedule or preference: it's a genuine option, rather than a lesser substitute for in-person work. It's here for new clients, ongoing clients, remote check-ins and follow-up coaching, anyone who wants to keep training with BB regardless of where you’ve landed, and for anyone who simply prefers to work by phone from the start.
From Clients Who Trained by Phone
"BB/Way of the Wag has been a great resource for me and my 100 pound Pyredoodle, Finn. When he's gone through some rough spots (some separation anxiety and later some odd growling behavior with other dogs all the sudden), I've worked with BB over the phone for advice. With her help, Finn is doing so much better!"
— Reid M."We recently took in a 7-lb stray Chorkie (Barnie), not housebroken or trained, and understandably anxious. I remembered BB Borowitz from my years in Oakland and scheduled a tele-session. ... It's been only two weeks, but her guidance on house-training was spot on. He now lets us know when he needs to go out, and we no longer discover "accidents." ... Also, BB taught us about CRAP - Consistency, Repetition, And Patience. ... I can't recommend her highly enough."
— Mary G.“We have a wonderful 4 year old Australian Labradoodle named Arvo, who is well trained and behaves great - most of the time! One habit we needed to break was his door greeting behavior - he's very protective at first and then over-loving when he recognizes a guest. I contacted BB with this issue and she talked me through how to get Arvo to "go to his place" when the doorbell rang, and meet gently with the visitor when the "stay" is released. BB is an insightful excellent instructor, even via Teleconference! I highly recommend Way of the Wag for your dog & human training needs."
